On the Road Again

compressed_Stars_in_the_NightBack home readying for a trip to California. The Flying Geese Quilter's Guild of Irvine, California has invited me to teach the Hunter's Star and lecture on the History of Signature Quilts. My daughter, Allison, lives not far away so I'll be able to spend a couple days with her. On Saturday Allison and I, along with a couple friends from her office, are taking a Peek-a-Boo Mittens knitting class at the Daily Fiber Yarn Company in Marietta, California. I'm looking forward to the class. I learned to knit when I was about 10 years old and have no real formal training.

The Stars in the Night workshop at Quiltworks NW in Bellevue, Washington was great fun. The pattern was designed by Jacqueline de Jonge from Be Colourful .  I had three students, Regan from nearby Bothel, Washington and Hjordis and Marie from Alberta, Canada. The small class allowed them to really spread out their fabrics and learn about colors, blending one color to the next. The picture shows what beautiful fabrics they had and how they were arranged. The great selection of fabrics at Quiltworks NW helped to complete their color wheel. I know once that wonderful array of fabrics were arranged it was difficult to pack it up to go home. Hopefully they've been able to spread it out at home and continue with their sewing. I've heard from Hjordis and that's exactly what she's doing. Good Luck to each of you. I know you'll do great.

Watch for the next blog with information about a truly fabulous retreat. CJ's Dream Quilt Retreats are exactly what they say!

Back to packing. Happy Quilting, Peggy
